Our monthly competitions are held on the last Sunday of every month at Crack Hill between Bridgend and Cowbridge just off the A48

Casting Results for Sunday 27th November 2011

We were casting in the old field for the last time this month as we are moving to new pastures in 2012. Bit of a mud bath again this month but any field is always better than no field.
Big thank you to Andrew {the farmer} for letting us use his land over the past ew years and for supporting the club in all their activities.
Day started off with some good winds as promised but died away to nothing by late afternoon. All the better cast were made before lunchtime. With Matt Russell recording a 242m with his first cast. This was to hold out as the best cast of the day. Some came close but no cigar. PB,s this month to Gareth Davies and Leighton Griffiths well done lads.Distances were a bit down on the day despite the winds as footing was very slippery with Ian Williams even leaving his boot in the mud as he moved his right foot to cast.Ian was awarded with a Gold chocolate medal for this and for having the wettest and muddiest socks. We are hoping to run a Xmas comp on the 18th of December but this will rely on weather and if we can use the new field this year. As usual please bring a present wrapped up please for the Xmas raffle. I will let everyone know what is happening and of course directions to our new venue Until then keep em high and long and straight down the centre line.May I also take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.See you in 2012
