After the weather of late it was nice to have it dry for a change and although there was zero wind we still had a brilliant day to cap off a fantastic year for our club. It was great to see Glyn Baldwin back after an arm operation and also to see casters from across the bridge make the trip to Wales to compete and join in the fun at our Christmas comp. We saw 2 new members join us this month and would like to welcome them to the club.
Top of the pile this month was the UKSF British championship runner up Chris Brayley with an astounding hit on the 125g of 231 meters in very hard conditions, next was another welsh international Nigel Hutchinson with a superb hit of 225meters on the 150g lead and in third position was the stylish Ben Breadstick with cracking a cast of 225 meters on the 125g.
Only one personal best this month and that was for new boy Steve Waters well done !!
A special mention for jack Ford at just 11 years old what a talent and a real nice kid.

What a truly remarkable day it’s not often do you get 25 - 30mph westerly winds straight down the court and so many of the top casters from around the country in one place ready to use it to the max .The weather man forecast big winds and rain so many were put off from coming, but the ones that did made for one of the most exiting event yet .One round personal best would go the next a welsh record the next an all comers record these boys were on fire. The are so many outstanding feats that it’s impossible to determine the best with England international Lee Adams casting 5 leads for 1252.10m arrogate something I don’t think has been recorded before then there was Phil Jones getting a new Welsh record on the 100g Steve Morris also of team England just piping Phil with a new all comers record on the 100g and then Team Wales captain Chris Brayley betting his own 200g record this was amassing casting. I could go on and on but the results speak for them selves, all that’s left to say is thanks to all of you for making casting history in Wales.
Another great day had by all with loads of laughs and good humoured banter roll on 3 weeks time.
If anyone is interested and would like to join the club or just coming for a look they will be made very welcome surfcasting is a sport for all ages and all levels of ability but most of all a very social sport.

The very heavy rain stayed with us most of the morning, clearing to make for a dry pleasant afternoon with some sunshine. The wind 10 – 15 mph stayed mostly westerly veering across slightly from time to time
With heavy rain forecast numbers were down this month hopefully better weather for next month’s event.
Leading the way this month was Phil Jones with massive cast of 246.4 meters truly amassing given the conditions those jam sandwiches paying off for Phil. Next was Christian Brayley runner up at this years UK championships with another superb cast on the 100g of 238 meters followed closely by Nigel Hutchinson saying bonjor to a cracking cast of 235 meters on the 150g
Another great day had by all with loads of laughs and good humoured banter roll on 4 weeks time.
If anyone is interested and would like to join the club or just coming for a look they will be made very welcome surfcasting is a sport for all ages and all levels of ability but most of all a very social sport. Our next event will be on the 25th and will incorporate the welsh championships.
