SURFSCAST WALES

What a great day we all had today the sun shone all day and most casters went home with at least a tan if nothing else. For this month's comp we had an Easter theme, with target prizes and nearest centre line prizes and best cast prizes in each group all winning Easter eggs as prizes. And to top all that was our Goo Dares Wins challenge to see who could cast a Cadbury creme egg the furthest.The creme egg contest was won by Steve Derravan with a mammoth cast of 71 yards and is a first n the casting game so he was crowned unofficial World record holder for his cast. There were a few lads who cast it further but were out of court so were notcounted. Everyone thought the creme egg challenge was hilarous and I think we will be having another go in the future. Thanks to my wife Lynne who crocheted 20 small holders for the eggs to be cast in bless her. The centre line prizes went to Group 1 Adam Morgan 81 cm away Group 2 Kevin Shortman 8 cm away Group 3 Steve Derravan 1m 59cm away. Target prizes went to Group 1 Gary Dickerson Group 2 Andi Yates Group 3 Steve Derravan. Best cast in each group was Group 1 Gary Dickerson Group 2 Mathew Russel and Group 3 Garwyn Shortman. Well done to all who all who won prizes and bad luck to those who didn't Top of the pile in the main competition was Mathew Russel just piping England international Gary Dickerson by just over a meter in the last few casts of the day. Well done Mathew on your first winMathew has only been tournament casting for just over 6 months and is one to keep your eye on.
Nice to see a new junior member at the club this week young Tom Morgan who I am sure will dowell. Also another 2 new members Nigel Evans and Chris Garner welcome to you all And nice to see a few old faces {Chris Macey} back at the club and casting well after a long lay off. Great to welcome a new visitor to the club who was down this way to attend a wedding and found himself with a spare day so decided to come and cast with us great to meet you Marco.And last but not least our star junior Garwyn pushing the Junior club record on further again with a great hit of 192m on the 150g in just about zero wind.
