Casting Results for Sunday 28th August 2011

Today started earlier than normal as we were holding the Welsh qualifiers as well as our monthly comp. Firstly I would like to thank Brian King, John Gravell, Steve Derravan and Garwyn Shortman for helping with the measuring. And thanks to all who helped set up and pack away.All casters were eager to get the ball rolling with the first group casting for the qualifiers. A few nerves were evident as a few crack offs and loss of distance were evident by some. But with the next qualifier event next month on the 150g and 175g leads I,m sure positions will change The results from the qualifiers will be on the WFSA site in due time.

After the qualifiers nerves settled and an afternoon of relaxed casting was had by all, after a quick court direction change. This showed with quite a few PB,s being recorded. Nice to Dan Seymore finding a bit of form after a long absence with 3 PB,s on 3 leads well done that man. But caster of the day has to go to 16 yr old Garwyn Shortman who raised the 100g Junior club record again to 208.95m {228 yards}. This is now being forwarded as a new Junior Welsh record.

Next month we will holding our 2nd set of qualifiers on the 150g and 175g leads so :31 and ::35 lines please.
Last but not least the bad news is that we may lose the field we are currently in as there have been crack offs found in the field that have become tangled in the mowing machine. It is imperative that we search for all crack offs to stop this happening again
