Casting Results for 28th March 2010

Quite a few bleary eyed casters today as the clocks went forward 1 hour depriving many of their beauty sleep. And believe me a few of need more than 8 hours to pretty them up.The day started fine and dry with a West wind of 5-10 mph so with the promise of rain all casters were eager to get a few chucks in the good conditions. We had the pleasure of a well known visitor to Surfcast Wales today Mr Dereck Townsend formally the owner of Lite Rods Bridgend which he ran for a number years.
Dereck wanted an insight of today's tournament casting scene and I think was well impressed with the clubs hospitality, safety camaraderie between casters and the distances achieved by all.
Was good to see some new faces joining up who I think have now caught the casting bug. Great to see you all and look forward to seeing you all at the next meeting on the 25 April. Conditions were not the best today but 2 casters had PB's Will Irving hit 195m on the 150g and Kevin Shortman with a cast of 191m on the 175g
Luckily the rain held off for the rest of the day and some good distances were achieved by all
