Results for 30th November 2008

First thing the weather was crisp at with no wind but this soon become a lovely sunny day with a slight northerly breeze

After a real ding dong battle between the top 3 casters, Christian Brayley managed to pull out a superb cast of 245.08 meters with the 125g lead narrowly pushing Andy Coping in to second place, his cracking cast also on the 125g lead of 242.20 meters was enough to hold Paul Baker back in third place with an equally impressive cast of 241meters with again the 125g lead .Real pleasure to watch these big hitters going at it.

We were again very pleased to see more new faces turning up to make the most of the experience on offer to help improve their distances and above all to cast in a controlled safe manner .We had 4 personal bests this month David Harris at his first event hit a fantastic distance of 223 meter very respectable in the conditions. Matthew Thomas continued to improve with a cast of 183.40 meters ,that 200 yards on the old scale. Father and son duo Kevin and Garwyn Shortman also achieved personal bests at their first event Kevin with 197.15 but the real star was Garwyn with a new junior club record of 138 meters, I think he managed to pip his dad on one round .
